Following the latest government announcement, sadly Rudding Park Hotel, Spa and Golf is now closed until Sunday 28 February. If however there is positive news which means we are able to re-open sooner we will keep you updated.

Stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Rudding Park when we re-open so we can extend a warm welcome once again.

Keeping our Team Safe

As a Covid-secure venue, health and safety is our priority and we have put the following measures in place so you can stay with confidence. As the Coronavirus outbreak comes under control, certain measures may be reduced, amended or eliminated.

  • Rudding Park has completed an assessment and is accredited as Covid-19 Confident by the AA.
  • All team members will undergo a Health and Safety Covid-19 Secure training program prior to returning to work, to educate them in strict hygiene protocols whilst remaining able to deliver our usual high standards of service. This also applies to any partners we work with who provide services such as Golf Professionals and Westrow Hair Studio.
  • 1m+ social distancing to be observed wherever possible
  • Enhanced cleaning programme throughout all ‘back of house’ areas, including all touch points such as door handles, handrails, and lifts.
  • Hand sanitising stations will be available for the team.
  • PPE (face coverings, disposal gloves, aprons, wipes, screens) available for all staff. It is a legal requirement for staff in hospitality settings to wear face coverings at all times. For those working back of house face coverings should be worn when social distancing and additional mitigating measures (such as screens/2m distancing) are not possible.
  • Daily temperature checks on arrival. Any member of the team with a temperature of 37.8C or greater will be asked to wait in their car or a private room for 30 minutes before having a second temperature check. If their temperature is still 37.8C they will need to call the NHS 111 Coronavirus and follow advice.
  • Teams will have staggered arrival and departure times and wherever possible, members of the team will be able to work from home
  • We will encourage increasing the frequency of hand washing or hand sanitising and surface cleaning (including disinfection of high footfall areas or common touch points and toilet/restrooms).
  • The time of any activity where social distancing cannot be maintained will be kept as short as possible.
  • Back-to-back or side-to-side working will be introduced (rather than face-to-face) and the use of screens or barriers to separate people from each other whenever possible.
  • ‘Fixed teams or partnering’ to be used where possible (so each person works with only a few others)
  • Staff Canteen will be adapted to minimise groups of people and allocated times will be set
  • Internal meetings to be carried out remotely where possible, and social distancing observed if meetings take place in person and training will be carried out remotely where possible.
  • A one-way system will be implemented back of house to prevent staff crossing, where possible.
  • A Covid-19 Champion has been appointed to ensure all procedures are being observed.
  • All guests must provide their details to support NHS Test and Trace

From 31 December Rudding Park is in Tier 3. Sadly this means the Hotel and restaurant have to close. On a positive note, The Spa remains open for day guests and the golf courses are also open, however, please be aware we are not accepting bookings for those from Tier 4. Please refer to the government guidelines for full details on all tiers and what you can and can't do. 

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • 1m+ social distancing to be observed, wherever possible.

TEST AND TRACE
The Test and Trace initiative allows local NHS and public health professionals to follow up with guests, if necessary, regarding Covid-19. It is a legal requirement to display the official NHS QR code poster and to ask guests to check in using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details.

You can either:

  • Download the NHS Covid-19 App, scan the QR code and ‘check-in’ using your down device
  • Complete a printed form which will be placed in a secure box. We need to keep the details for 21 days, after which they will be destroyed

All guests must provide their details (not just one person per group)
Guests must provide details even though they may have already provided their details when they made their booking
Guests must provide details each time they visit a different area of Rudding Park

HEALTH AND HYGIENE

  • Contactless temperature checks on arrival.  Anyone with a temperature of 37.8C or greater will be asked to wait in their car for 30 minutes before having a second temperature check. If their temperature is still 37.8C or greater they will need to call the NHS 111 Coronavirus and follow advice.
  • Rooms will be subject to frequent antiviral ‘fogging’ and windows opened to assist with ventilation, wherever possible
  • Hand sanitising stations will be available for guests to help themselves.
  • Enhanced cleaning schedule, including all touch points such as door handles, handrails and lifts.
  • Face covers and wipes will be available for all guests on request.

PAYMENTS

  • To minimise physical contact the use of cash is discouraged. Payments should ideally be made by card/contactless with pre-payment prior to arrival, wherever possible.

PUBLIC AREAS

  • As per Government guidelines everyone must wear face coverings
  • Furniture has been rearranged to observe social distancing.
  • Where possible, printed material and cushions have been removed to reduce touch points
  • Guests will be encouraged to use the stairs wherever possible, and lifts will be available on request only.
  • All windows will be opened frequently to increase ventilation
  • Rather than use the public ladies and gents, hotel residents will be asked to use the facilities in their room

  • Contactless check-in
    Our Guest Experience team like to greet guests on arrival. However, we appreciate times have changed so whilst we still offer that personal level of service, as part of our contactless check-in process guests will receive a pre-arrival email to ask additional question so we can tailor our service accordingly. 

  • Check-in time
    Hotel residents can check-in from 3pm. We will contact guests to ask for their estimated arrival time.  This will allow us to show guests straight to their room.

  • Car registration recognition
    This allows us to provide a smooth efficient welcome.

  • Contactless check-out
    Guests will receive an electronic copy of their bill to check on the morning of departure, approve their bill the click of a button and automatically check-out. If guests have any queries regarding their bill, they can contact the Guest Experience Team and discuss their bill before departing.

  • 11am Check-out
    We politely request guests follow the check-out time. Our Housekeeping team will need access from 11am so they can clean the room to our Covid-19 Policy hygiene standards.

  • Rudding Park App
    The App will allow hotel residents to enjoy a seamless contactless experience with hotel information at their fingertips. Features include viewing menus, contactless room showrounds, view bill and 'Live Chat' with our Guest Experience Team during their stay. Notifications of offers and preferential rates will also be available exclusively to guests who download the App.

Health and safety is our priority and we have put the following measures in place so you can stay with confidence. As the Coronavirus outbreak comes under control, certain measures may be reduced, amended or eliminated.

  • All rooms and suites will be subject to frequent antiviral ‘fogging’ and windows opened to assist with ventilation.
  • Where possible, we will leave rooms unoccupied between guest stays so the room can ‘rest’.
  • All rooms and suites will be cleaned based on our ‘Clean Room 8 Mark Assurance’ which includes; door handles, light switches, remote and A/C controls, taps, safe, telephone, iron and kettle.
  • All bathroom toiletries are for individual use and will be changed and disinfected between stays. 
  • All laundry is washed at a temperature which guarantees elimination of any potential trace of Covid-19 and the laundry trollies will be disinfected regularly.
  • Turndown and servicing the room will continue, unless guests advise us they do not wish the team to enter the room.
  • If Housekeeping do need to enter the room, they will wear a face covering.

Spa

Tiers

The Spa remains open for day guests however, we are not accepting bookings for those from Tier 4 and based on government guidelines food will not be available. Please refer to the government guidelines for full details on all tiers and what you can and can't do. 

Face coverings
Guests need to wear face coverings when moving around indoor areas of Rudding Park including; The Spa, Roof Top Spa or poolside; in relaxation areas and during treatment (excluding facials). The only exception is when sitting at a table to eat or drink, swimming, exercising or using the gym

Social Distancing
Social distancing to be observed wherever possible. To facilitate social distancing we have reduced capacities in The Spa

Members' Gym

  • Capacity is 2 people at any one time in 45 minute sessions. Some equipment will be marked out if use, please wipe down all equipment before and after use. We will sanitise in between each session. We ask all our gym members to arrive ready in gym attire
  • We ask that members
    • Observe social distancing
    • Apply hand gel regularly
    • Use the sanitiser to wipe down the equipment before and after use

Health and Hygiene

  • Daily deep cleaning prior to re-opening with enhanced cleaning throughout, including all touch points such as door handles, lift buttons, handrails and lockers.
  • Face coverings will be available for all guests on request.
  • Screens on reception desks, manicure and pedicure stations.
  • All linen is purchased new and as always, we will be diligent in changing towels after each treatment
  • Laundry washed at a minimum of 60 degrees and film wrapped for hygiene unless in use.
  • Guests to keep their towel and robe with them whilst in The Spa
  • Our shower facilities will be limited during the first phase of re-opening, as per government guidelines. Please arrive as dressed as possible for your spa experience – this is necessary to reduce excess time spent in the changing room.
  • Where possible please shower at home after your visit.
  • Please use the alcohol gel before and after handling any reading material.

Treatments

  • Our treatment rooms and all trolley bottles, treatment beds, showers and equipment will be sanitised and cleaned after each treatment and deep cleaned upon opening and closing.
  • Face coverings are required for all treatments, except facials.
  • Treatments have been adapted to ensure both guest and therapist safety. Please be aware therapists may be wearing personal protective equipment for your treatment.
  • Where multiple treatments are booked, we may need to change your therapist or treatment room as per government guidelines to minimise the risks to our team and guests.

Payment

  • To minimise physical contact cash is no longer accepted. We require pre-payment or payment to a pre-registered account for all bookings to minimise contact transactions, we will charge any outstanding balances upon departure to the card used to make the initial booking.
  • We will be implementing a staggered arrival system for spa day arrivals and treatment arrivals, to reduce footfall in our reception and changing areas.
  • We will be taking pre arrival paperwork for all spa day bookings for all table reservations, one of the team will contact our guests prior to arrival to ensure we have everything in place for smooth running of the day.
  • We have replaced any touch button door entry system with contactless movement sensor pads.

It is a legal requirement to display the official NHS QR code poster and to ask guests to check in using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details.

You can either:

    • Download the NHS Covid-19 App, scan the QR code and ‘check-in’ using your down device
    • Complete a printed form which will be placed in a secure box. We need to keep the details for 21 days, after which they will be destroyed

All guests must provide their details (not just one person per group)
Guests must provide details even though they may have already provided their details when they made their booking

  • Any dining experiences must be pre-booked. To ensure we can effectively manage social distancing for all our guests, we politely request prompt arrival.
  • Where possible the same table will be allocated to guests for their entire stay.
  • Face coverings or visors will be worn by all staff where social distancing is not possible.
  • The large breakfast buffet will be replaced with a small ‘buffet tray’ with individually wrapped or bottled items. Cooked breakfasts can be ordered from the kitchen or served by a member of the team from the hot buffet
  • Staff will not remove guests’ coats and belongings.
  • All service will be table service, and guests must not approach the bar.
  • The number of guests allowed at a table will be based on Government guidelines.
  • Where possible, all condiments will be sealed.
  • Windows will be opened to increase ventilation in the restaurants.

Golf

It is compulsory to wear a face covering indoors (including walking through the Driving Range) at all golf facilities

It is a legal requirement to display the official NHS QR code poster and to ask guests to check in using this option as an alternative to providing their contact details.

Who can Play?
Up to four golfers from four separate households may play together in one single group. Social distancing must be observed.  Maximum group size; no more than six including caddies and chaparones.

Members: to ensure as many can play as possible we are now encouraging three or four ball play only (please note that 2 balls will be paired up). When booking your tee time, please ring your fellow members and try to make up a three or four ball. We will also try to help by pairing members up. This will hopefully ensure we have tee times for everyone.  If we can get the majority of play in three or four balls it will also ensure speed of play is consistent - nothing is more frustrating than being the two ball behind a four ball and having to wait on every shot!

Visitors: Visitor tee off times are from 10.30pm on the 18 Hole Hawtree Course and 9am on the Repton Short Course, subject to availability.

Course Facilities and Set Up

Course Condition
During lockdown The R&A, BIGGA and the GCMA agreed with the UK Government what work was permissible. The guidance limited activities to only minimum 'essential work' and the limitations imposed made retention of the full complement of greens staff unrealistic.  As such we have been working with a skeleton staff so some areas of the course may not have been maintained to their usual high standard.  We hope you understand given the exceptional circumstances.

  • On-Course Items
    Course ‘furniture’ has been removed or covered up where necessary, except stakes defining areas of the course which are treated as immovable obstructions
  • Hole and Flagstick
    Do not remove the flag sticks, use the ball pick up device with your putter head
  • Driving Range                                                                      
    Accessible through the external blue gate when the Academy shop is closed.
    The bays offer of space so you can observe social distancing and the use of bays with power tees limits the need for any physical contact.
    A social distancing queuing system is in place to obtain baskets of balls which are cleaned and sanitised between use.
  • Practice Areas at Golf Academy
    May be used on a ‘one off, one on’ basis, subject to availability

BEFORE THE ROUND

Bookings

  • Due to the limited tee off times we have dropped the booking window to 10 days for members and 7 days for visitors to operate a system that is as fair as possible.
  • 9-minute intervals between tee times.

Arrival and Waiting to Play

  • There will be limited seating in the Clubhouse and we will encourage guests to sit 'socially distanced' outside.
  • Clubhouse toilets will be open with controlled use.
  • You should not arrive until 10 minutes before your tee time.
  • Trolley and buggies will be available for hire and safe sanitising practices are being followed

FOOD AND DRINK

  • No food and drink will be available.

DURING THE ROUND ‘Play Safe, Stay Safe’

  • Teeing Areas
    Stay more than two metres apart when walking to the ball, searching for a ball and playing shots.
  • Bunkers
    Please make your best efforts to smooth the sand using your club and/or feet.
  • Putting Green
    Keep 2 metres apart on the putting greens.

Covid Cancellation Policy

Individual accommodation, spa and golf bookings:
Should you need to cancel a booking taking place between now and 31 March 2021, due to self isolation or changes in lockdown measures, we will offer to move your booking to another date before 31 December 2021, along with any pre-payments held as credit so you can enjoy the original experience you booked at the same price.

Group accommodation, spa and event bookings:
Should you need to cancel a booking taking place between now and 31 March 2021, due to changes in the regulations for support groups and lockdown measures, we can transfer your booking to another date for up to 12 months, along with any pre-payments held as credit.
