GARDENING WORKSHOPS

 

As our team of talented gardeners prepare to open our Kitchen Garden for the season, we are excited to launch a series of workshops designed to help and inspire the gardener in you!

Emma Pugh, Kitchen Gardener and the team grow over 500 different herbs, salads, edible flowers and fruits are grown, to offer guests something different when they dine at Rudding Park including a number of heritage varieties which are usually hard to find.

This is your chance to learn from the experts, with a practical element. Each workshop includes arrival refreshments and pastries.

If you have never sown seeds or taken cuttings before, this is the perfect time to have a go. 

We will look at the propagation tools and equipment we use here at Rudding Park and show you the different skills and techniques used for successful seed sowing and cuttings.  Take home a pot with your seeds sown in it and a pot of soft wood cuttings taken from the plants in the Kitchen Garden, along with instructions on how to look after them and get them to root successfully. 

All tools and equipment will be provided but please wear suitable footwear and bring waterproof outerwear in case of wet weather.

£110 per person (includes tea & coffee and pastries on arrival and two course lunch at Clocktower Brasserie)

Edible Flowers and Micro Herbs

This workshop will give you an introduction to edible flowers and growing micro herbs. Discover more about the edible flowers we grow for Horto Restaurant at Rudding Park, looking at when and how to grow them and when and how to crop them!

We will also look at the micro leaves we grow in the Kitchen Garden. Discover how this is done and the different plants used by the team of Rudding Park chefs. There will also be a practical session on sowing micro herbs in a small tray to take away and use at home. 

All tools and equipment will be provided, but please wear suitable footwear and bring waterproof outerwear in case of wet weather.
