Competition Results

In Thursday’s Stableford John Chapman (9) took first prize with a very credible 42 points, closely followed by Dave Brecken (4) who came in a close second on 41 and Sandy McDonald (22) in third with 40 points. Despite these three fantastic scores the highlight of the morning took place on the 5th hole where Mike Rhodes (13) had a hole in one from the winter tee (142 yards). Congratulations Mike.

Despite the recent poor weather conditions the Seniors continue to experience high numbers of attendance for their Monday and Thursday morning sessions. The Seniors have a busy schedule planned for 2012 with the usual away day in the Hornsea AM AM Competition on Wednesday 2 May. They also have 14 friendly team matches and a double header against Ramside Hall in Durham for the Annual Trophy. The English National Senior Team Competition will also take place in 2012 with Jeff Jones and Bill Brooke entering the pairs event.

The fourth round of the Winter League took place on Sunday 29 January. Posting an early creditable total on the day was the group of C.J Swenson, Alan Boyd, James Crowther and Brian McLelland with a total of 83 which will see them rise to fifth in the overall standings. James Braddon, Lewis Gladstone-Buchan, Peter Wrigley and Graham Dickie posted a solid round of 86 which has moved them up four places to second overall. However the stand out score of the day came from the group of Martin Sims, Graeme Ogilvie, Bob Fawbert and Graham Metcalfe who carded a stunning 89 points. This score takes the group to the top of the table overall, now level on points with the group headed by James Braddon. 

Work on the 6th and 7th fairways is running to schedule with the drainage of the left hand side of the green on the 6th now complete .The removal of the old pathway running across both the 6th and 7th holes will be carried out in the next week and therefore these areas will be classed as GUR until further notice.

The Members Quiz Night takes place on Friday 24 February. Sign up your team today, minimum of four and maximum of 6 players per team. Pre quiz drinks from 7pm at the Clubhouse followed by the quiz at 7.30pm. All members and member’s guests welcome. Free entry for all.
