Garden Workshops running this summer
Our Kitchen Garden is one of the most celebrated of its kind. Designed by Matthew Wilson, former Head of Site at RHS Harlow Carr and presenter of Channel 4's Landscape Man, it spans 1,320 square metres across 52 raised beds of English Oak, growing over 500 varieties of herbs, salads, edible flowers and fruits.
This summer, the team are sharing their knowledge in an exclusive series of seasonal workshops, open to members and their guests. Each session is led by Head Gardener Dr Sarah Owen-Hughes or Head Kitchen Gardener Emma Pugh.
THE WORKSHOPS
Perfect Propagation | Tuesday 2 June
Join Emma Pugh for a morning dedicated to the art of propagation. From sowing seeds to taking softwood and semi-ripe cuttings, she'll guide you through the techniques the Kitchen Garden team rely on throughout the season.
Grow for Flavour | Tuesday 23 June
Spend a morning with Dr Sarah Owen-Hughes as she shares the team's approach to growing flavour-packed crops in Rudding Park's award-winning organic, no-dig Kitchen Garden. Expect to discover varieties you've never encountered before.
Magical Micros | Tuesday 14 July
Microgreens are one of the most rewarding things you can grow at home — versatile, fast and productive in any season. Dr Sarah Owen-Hughes will take you through a range of microgreens, edible flowers and surprising plants to try in your own garden.
Planning your Vegetable Garden | Tuesday 25 August
The height of the season is the ideal moment to start thinking about next year. Emma Pugh will share her approach to planning a productive vegetable garden, from crop rotation and mulching to selecting the right varieties for your space and your table.
