Why we've 'turned down' feather bedding Introducing the Claremont duvet and pillow range
Comfort is often felt in the smallest details. The weight of a duvet. The way a pillow settles. The sense that everything has been carefully considered.
As part of our ongoing sustainability journey, we’ve recently moved from traditional feather and down bedding to Star Linen UK’s Claremont range, an animal-free alternative.
Rethinking feather
Guest expectations are evolving and whilst comfort remains non-negotiable, more and more people are also thinking about sustainability, wellbeing and allergies when they travel.
Traditional feather and down duvets and pillows, while undeniably soft, don’t suit everyone. Allergies, ethical concerns and environmental impact all played a role in our decision to look for a better option - one that aligned with how we want our guests to feel.
Working with Star Linen
We partnered with B Corp business Star Linen to introduce their Claremont duvet and pillow range across our bedrooms — an animal-free alternative designed for high-end hospitality.
What appealed wasn’t just the sustainability credentials, but how well the range performs in real-world use:
- Breathable, box-stitched cotton covers that keep beds feeling light rather than overly warm
- Micro Down filling that delivers the same loft and softness guests expect, without animal fibres
- Two pillow firmness options, allowing us to cater to different sleep preferences rather than taking a one-pillow-fits-all approach
Don't take our word for it!
Since introducing the range, guests often describe the duvets as 'light and airy' while still warm and cocooning. Both pillow options are regularly mentioned in reviews, with guests appreciating the choice rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Most importantly, the sleep experience still feels luxurious... and even more inclusive and considered.
Now it's your turn!
