Selecting our Charity of the Year

Our Charity of the Year programme is shaped by our team. We believe the causes we support should reflect our values and passions, which is why we all play an active role in choosing each charity partnership.

Each year, our team is invited to vote on a shortlist of local charities. The two charities with the most votes are then invited to present to us, sharing the impact of their work within the community. Following these presentations, a final vote is held to select our Charity of the Year.

About Mind in Harrogate District

Our 2026 Charity of the Year is Mind in Harrogate District, an independent local charity founded in 1973. Run by local people for local people, it is affiliated with National Mind and the Mind Federation.

There are around 100 local Minds across England and Wales. Each operates independently, raising its own funding and delivering services tailored to the needs of its community, while remaining part of the wider Mind network. This means that every pound raised for Mind in Harrogate District stays local and helps support people across the Harrogate District.
